Pitot tube Apparatus
A Pitot Tube Apparatus is employed to influence the velocity of a fluid flowing via a pipe by computing the deviation in pressure between two points in the pipe. It is also employed to regulate fluid velocity. It is a flow measurement device employed to measure fluid flow velocity. Also, it can measure the local flow velocity at a provided point in the flow stream. It is a pressure-sensitive instrument that is most often employed in aviation so as to ascertain a Mach number, altitude, aircraft's airspeed, and altitude trend. The Pitot Tube Apparatus can be easily inserted via a small hole in the channel. Also, it can find out the flow velocity inside the channeled wind tunnel.
This apparatus is used to measure the velocity of fluid in the pipe. This apparatus is also used to measure the coefficient of pitot tube. The system is closed circuit.
This apparatus consists of Brass pitot tube (bend through 90o) fitted 1" pipe. Pressure tapings are provided on pitot tube and pipe. The pressure tapping are connected to the inclined U Tube Mercury Manometer to measure pressure difference. The tanks are well FRC fiber coated inside to prevent rust hence increase the life of tank.
